1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your character's favourite colour, or what the relationship with their mother was like, their lap dancer name, whatever.

2. I respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know your character better.

3. You update your characters IJ with the answers to the questions, and comment to this post with a link to your answers.

4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else's character, or even players, in the post.

5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions about either themselves or their characters.

Previous answers to Questions:

Harry's:
1) Her in-laws were killed during the beginnings of the revolution, but I don't believe we know what happened to Monsieur and Madam Tremaine. What happened to them after their daughter married the Baron?
Amandine's parents were very happy that she had done so well for herself, but when the Revolution started they were very concerned for her. They didn't or couldn't get in contact with her and so they don't know if she's alive or dead. When the raid on the bastillion happened her father turned their guest house into a hiding place for those involved and fleeing from the law. Their den was soon uncovered and they had to escape to Bordeaux where nobody knew them and they are riding out the rest of the revolution there, as no-one suspects the two elderly people.

2) If given the chance, would Amandine run away with another man if he was able to provide her with the luxurious life she experienced before the Revolution, and would she leave her husband?
Her marriage wasnn't in the best of health before they moved to England, let's put it that way, but now they're in England and she's appreciating the finer things in life, the time she's spending with him, the basics of their marriage rather than luxury. She did so well without it for seventeen years, and she only spent a year being rich so it's easier for her to be without: she does love her husband dearly, but it wouldn't be beyond her to leave him for someone she loved unconditionally or with a passion beyond what she'd ever felt before. Whether he could give her riches or not, so long as they survive together that's all she'd ever need.

3) Why is [her favourite colour] blue? :)
Because it reminds her of the sea, and the sunny sky, and it soothes her.

4) How does she feel about her husbands gambling and womanising, and how did she first find out about it? Do you think it is something she will forgive him for, or is she going to grow more agitated by it?
She doesn't know about it. She's heard rumours of his gambling past and thinks it's normal but she doesn't know about the women. If she has an incling she's choosing to ignore it, but she doesn't realise the extent.

5) If, as a woman born into the bourgeois, the Committee for Public Safety offered her immunity from guillotine and the option for coming back to France, but it would mean betraying her new employer, would she accept?
Only if they offered the same for her husband or lover she'd possibly left him for. It'd be a hard decision though, as she would hate to betray anyone who has been good to her.

Katherine's:
1. Did Amandine ever dream of the higher classes before her courtship with Olivier, or was it entirely spontaneous?
She only dreamt of the dresses they wore, but had no clue as to their lifestyle to actually want a part of it. The only time she thought about it was during the run up to her wedding, getting all excited but it wasn't as good as her expectations.

2. Before the Revolution, was Amandine at odds with Olivier's family, or did they keep relatively quiet?
As he wasn't the most influencial of the family they really just put up with her. She was sad when they were killed but it wasn't as if she had a close bond with them, though she wouldn't have wished them any harm just because of their disapproval of her.

3. After her marriage, did Amandine ever miss the bourgeois life she previously led? And is she happier now as a maid again than as a baroness?
Her old life was much simpler. She did miss how she could just pop out to the park and go around the shops and look like a mess, instead of having to spend an hour a day at least to look her best and have a chaperone ordered to take her around the shops. She did miss the ability to fade into the background, or enjoy a drink at her local.
She is happier, because she doesn't have all the duties or image to maintain, and she has her husband back.

4. Does Amandine want children? If yes, when? If not, why?
Yes, she does, but she doesn't know when she's going to be able to handle a baby. Not until the revolution has settled.

5. Did Amandine ever feel restricted in the courtly lifestyle she married into?
Incredibly so. Though she was admired for her beauty people didn't seem to want to know what she had to say or have an interest in her, either because they knew of her background or disapproved of her husband. She couldn't be herself around them, they lacked the humour of the bourgeois and she couldn't go out when she wanted.

Aimé's:
1) Did Amandine ever feel shunned because of her low background by people not in Olivier’s family after she married?

Yes, and by both sides. Her bourgeois friends saw her as betraying them and the higher class saw her as nothing. It didn't help with who she married, either.

2) Would Amandine want to have children with Olivier or does she feel the marriage is too complicated without the inclusion of children?
She does want children, and hopefully with Olivier but at the moment life is more complicated than the marriage. She has no idea how to be a mother or how she would raise a child in the state her home country is in or the way she is living, and Olivier might see it as yet another nail in his coffin.

3) Is she more comfortable with the aristocracy or the lower-classes?
The lower, definitely, as she is free to be herself but she has a respect for the way in which the aristocracy works and their way of speaking or behaving. Their language is fascinating.

4) Did she have a good relationship with her in-laws towards the end of their lives or did they always dislike her?
They managed. She actually did like them, but as she was so low in status she didn't garner a second glance and her opinion was worth nothing.

5) When the revolution ends what does Amandine see her self doing? Would she go back to France? Would she stay in England? Would she leave her husband if the choice she made wasn’t the one he wanted?
France has always been her home and she would adore to go back and start yet another new life, either with her husband, by herself or with another lover. She does like England but she would only stay if there was no other choice and if she could live out of servitude.
She would only leave Olivier if she had no other alternative, if she was utterly miserable and if she thought she could manage on her own. If she had someone else however, she would only leave Olivier if she was sure the other man was dedicated to her
